Are Black Rifle Coffee bags vacuum sealed?

Yes, the majority of our coffee bags are vacuum sealed to help lock in freshness and flavor.

After roasting, coffee naturally releases carbon dioxide (CO₂), a process known as degassing. Because of this, you may notice your bag looks slightly inflated or “puffed up” when it arrives. This is completely normal and happens more quickly with ground coffee than whole beans.

Each bag is designed with a one-way valve, which allows CO₂ to escape without letting oxygen in. This keeps your coffee fresh while preventing excess pressure from building inside the bag.

When is it a concern?

In most cases, a puffed bag is expected and a sign of fresh coffee. However, if the bag is damaged, leaking, or has a broken seal, reach out to our team and we’ll make it right.

What this means for you

  • Puffing = normal
  • Freshness = preserved
  • Flavor = locked in

Final Sip

A little puff just means your coffee is doing what great coffee does, staying fresh and ready to brew.
