How should I store my coffee?
Coffee Storage
Want coffee that is as fresh as possible? Of course you do! Who wouldn't?
Purchasing whole coffee beans will automatically help keep your coffee fresher for a longer period of time compared to pre-ground coffee. Regardless of which texture you choose, you’ll want to keep your coffee in a cool, dark place, preferably in an airtight container
- Mason jars are a beautiful storage option but do let light in, which can cause your coffee to become stale faster. Keep this in mind if you're looking at glass or other clear containers.
- Do not put your unopened coffee in a refrigerator. Once you remove it from the freezer, keep it out for fresher coffee. Do not refreeze it!
- Leave the coffee in its closed bag/container until it reaches room temperature again. Once the coffee has reached room temperature, keep it in a pantry or an airtight container
Ground coffee
It will last about three to four months if kept in a cool, dry environment (such as a pantry), but it will last one to two years if kept in a freezer (make sure it hasn't been opened and is kept airtight - mold can grow on coffee if it is exposed to moisture).
Whole-bean coffee
It will last about six months if kept in a dry pantry, and it's good for up to two years if you put it in a freezer.
Coffee Rounds
It will last about a year when stored properly in their original packaging or an airtight container
Custom Textures or Grinds
Unfortunately we're unable to customize the type of grind per order. We use a utility grind that works well in most drip pots and pour overs. We suggest grabbing a bag of whole bean and grinding it at home to get the perfect texture for you!
